BOMBER JACKETS began as a play. As winner of the 1994 Beverly Hills Julie Harris Playwright Award Competition in Los Angeles,, it drew the attention of MIRIAM COLON. Ms. Colon produced the play for her Puerto Rican Traveling Theater on West 47th st. in Manhattan, assigning OBIE award nominee ALBA OMS to direct.
After having sold out ts three-week run, the play was extended. And after the NY Times and New Yorker Magazine's reviews came out, lines could be seen forming every night for ticket sales. Bomber Jackets was a hit!
What followed throughout the run was the usual 'Flavor of the Month' attention given to me from various independent production companies like JERSEY FILMS and HBO Films, to name just two.
But finally, after many false starts (and a revival of the play in 1999) work will begin this summer on the film version.
